McGREGOR James (Jim) McGregor, Sr., age 79, a native of Mobile, passed away peacefully at a local hospital, November 7, 2010. Jim was a member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carolyn McGregor; son, James (Laura) McGregor, Sugar Land, Texas, 2 adoring grandchildren, Robin (Jared) Brient, London, England, Andrew James McGregor, Metairie, Louisiana; one great grandchild, Camden James Brient, London, England, brother-in-law Norman Roberts, and sister-in-law, Nancy Landry, Jacksonville, Fl., nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jim retired from International Paper Company. He was an avid golfer, and past President of Mobile Seniors Golf Association. Jim graduated from Murphy High School in 1950, studied computers at the Delgado Institute in New Orleans and Southwest Technical Institute in Mobile. Two infant children, Kenneth Floyd and Robert Alan McGregor, and his parents Randall and Esther McGregor preceded him in death. A very special thank you to Dr. Robert Israel for the warm professional care he always gave to Jim. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care received at the Providence Hospital by all who took care of Jim during his illness. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 12:00 Noon, November 13, 2010, in the chapel at Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, (251) 478-5225. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the service time. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the American Heart Association. An online guest book may be signed at www.pinecrestfuneralhome.com.
