"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on the Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing." II Timothy 4: 7-8 Mr. James "Hickie" McCullum was born on September 21, 1929 in Florence, South Carolina. He was the son of Ed and Juanita Carter McCullum. On Tuesday, January 12, 2010, James departed this earthly life at his home after a brief illness. James attended the public schools of Florence County. He was employed for several years with L. H. Stokes & Son, located in Florence, SC. On February 21, 1957, he was joined in holy wedlock to Vera Benjamin. To this union two children were born. James united into membership with the Savannah Grove Baptist Church Family where he served on the Usher Board for several years. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva McCullum. He will be remembered for his kindness, unselfishness, love and goodness which he exhibited and manifested toward those with whom he came in contact with.
