BOSTON (AP) — A prominent political scientist whose "broken windows" theory influenced a nationwide move toward community policing has died at a Boston hospital.
A hospital spokeswoman says James Q. Wilson died Friday at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, but she isn't releasing any details.
The Boston Globe reports Wilson was being treated for leukemia. He was 80.
