James Townsend Huggins, of King, North Carolina, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, after a long fight against heart disease. He was born in Lumberton, North Carolina, December 6, 1926, to John Bryan and Tessie Huggins. He was the third of five sons and was predeceased by three brothers, Lynberry, Jack and Bobby. James is survived by his wife of 64 years, Melba Louise Huggins; his children, Jimmy (Sandra) of Virginia Beach, VA, Steve (Lucy) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Sandra White (Mike) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Ann Medlin of Belews Creek, NC, and Mark (Mary) of Winston-Salem, NC; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and his brother, Johnny (Linda) of Lumberton, NC. There will be a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, North Carolina with a reception following at Floyd's Funeral Home.
