James Victor Vaughn (Jimmy) passed away on Friday December 23rd at age 93. Services will be held at Anderson Clayton Funeral Home in Mesquite Texas on Tuesday December 27th at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Monday December 26th from 6 to 8 p.m. Jimmy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Margaret Vaughn, son Jimmy W Vaughn and daughter Nancy Prince Lynch. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Wayne Vaughn, Eric Vaughn, Nicole Prince and Mindy Prince. Eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He retired from Dart in 1979 after 22 years of service.
Jimmy served in the US Army in WWII in 1942 to 1945. He served in the Corp of Engineers under George Pattan, transferred to infantry after the liberation of France. He participated in the Normandy Landing and Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Good Conduct medals.
Jimmy was a longstanding member of Highland Oaks Church of Christ and the 49ners group.
He has left our sight but will never leave our hearts. We will miss our devoted husband, father, and grandfather. We will always remember his kindness, compassion, love and laughter.
