James W. Miller Jr., 63 died at home on Thursday December 2, 2010. He was a native of the Catskill's. He was born April 9, 1947 in Margaretville son of the late James and Helen Mech Miller. A graduate of Fleischmanns
High School and Delhi College. He was a N.Y.S Corrections Officer for fifteen years, having served in both Woodburne- Sullivan County and
Ogdensburg- St. Lawrence Co. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He was generous with his time and talents, was
family oriented, and enjoyed music. He was a United States Navy veteran of Vietnam, having earned the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Campaign Medal with a Bronze Star, and the Navy Unit Commendation Award. He had been a member of the Ogdensburg American Legion Post.
Surviving are his son Ronnie of Grahamsville, NY, 3 daughters: Debbie Settles of Greenup, KY , Heather Grund of Lake Huntington, NY, and Amber Robinson of N. Greenbush, NY. Two stepsons: Dennis and Douglas Edwards of Hurleyville, NY .
Two brothers: Tom Miller of Fleischmanns and John of FL. A sister Theresa Skala of Margaretville. Seven grandchildren: Ashley, Devin, Justin, Izabel, Emma, Angela, and Jennifer. He was predeceased by his brother Charles in 2002.
His funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 am at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia. Burial in Clovesville Cemetery.
