James W. Smith "Smitty", 78, died Saturday, January 2, 2010 in St. Francis Hospital surrounded by family. Mr. Smith worked at Pathmark for 41 years and Dodd Dental for 5 years. He is survived by his wife, Lily M. Smith, daughters, Deborah Howard, Doretha Johnson (Hayes) and Denise Brown (Shane) sons, Dale (Annie), Donald (Carolyn), Darnell (Tina), David, Douglas (Sandra), Derek (Karen), Dennis Smith (Lucette) and James Sparrow; sister, Pearl Smith; niece, Dorothy Smith; nephew, Michael Peebles. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Smith retired as a cashier from Pathmark Supermarket in 1994. Funeral 11 am Thursday, January 7, at Tabernacle Full Gospel Baptist Cathedral, 501-505 Washington Street, Wilmington, Delaware 19801. Viewing from 9-10:45 am only, with burial in Silverbrook Cemetery.
