When thinking of my Aunt Jan, this quote comes to mind:

My Aunt Jan was always herself, and she was great at it. There wasn't a person that didn't love my Aunt Jan, and there was never a person that my Aunt Jan didn't love. She saw the good in everybody- and she loved to share pieces of her heart with all of us. Even at the very end, when she couldn't talk much, she'd gather all the strength she could just to say, "I love you" or "You're so beautiful." When her arms became to weak to raise, she'd still muster up the strength to offer us a hug. I have learned more about love these last three weeks than I have EVER learned during my 26 years of living! She taught me that love should be given away freely, even when it's hard. She taught me that everybody deserves to be loved. She taught me that it's never too late, nor to early, to become close to someone and let them into your heart. She taught me courage, for she was brave. She taught me gratitude, for she was thankful. She taught me strength, for she was strong. She taught me Humility, for she was humble. She taught me beauty, for her beauty radiates from the inside and is what I'll miss most about my lovely Aunt Jan.

I love you "so bad" aunt Jan... and I am so thankful for the past three weeks. I will love you forever, and will miss you until we meet again.

I have many fond memories of Jan, and your entire family. When we moved to Salt Lake City, I found a "lifelong" frined in Karla, and she so graciously shared her family with me, I have always admired the love you all had for each other and today I am saying a prayer that you all find peace and comfort in knowing that where Jan is, there is no pain, no sadness only joy in meeting Our Father.

I was happy to read that she and Don got married and they had the little family she always dreamed of. Life took me away from the S.L. area and sad to say I lost track of Jan, but I will forever remember Jan's friendship, enthusiasm and zest for life. I feel so very fortunate that God chose you to be my big sister. The kind and compassionate spirit that everyone makes reference to began when you were young. You were always the big sister that everyone wishes they had. I remember hearing about how excited you were when you learned that you were getting a baby sister, you would dress me, comb my hair and push me in my stroller...although I don't remember these things the love you had for me is evident in the numerous pictures of when we were young.As a teenager you had the coolest clothes (that I borrowed on numerous occasions without asking) you went the coolest places and would let me tag along most of the time...as young mothers we would enjoy each others children and got together often hoping to instill the "importance of family" to our children. As it turns out I guess we suceeded in this because our children remain close as adults. I am so very grateful that I was able to spend the last 3 weeks with you. I now have new memories that I will cherish and carry close to my heart forever. During the last 3 weeks you continued to teach me so many things..."love" is amazing, you taught me that I can laugh and cry at the same time, you taught me that life is short so cherish the time I have with loved ones and the bond between sisters is stronger than I had ever realized. As I step forward into my new reality..... I am so very sad, scared and unsure of how I will ever get through this difficult time. I am comforted in the fact that I have you "my sister angel" in heaven watching over me and giving me the courage I need every step of the way. I am so thankful that you left a part of "you" here in your darling boys Koby and Logan who I love and cherish now more than ever before. I love you so much Jan and I will miss you so very much, Thank you for being my big sis and I will think of you daily as I remember all that you taught me, I will cherish every moment I have with family and friends because as you have taught me, I never know how long I have with them. Jan Morgan is an excellent person and she will be missed greatly. I will always remember her cheerful attitude, optimism, fighting spirit, great sense of humor, genuine personality and love for her family. I will also remember her love for cats and countless chicken items around the kitchen.

Our family extends our deepest sympathy and condolences for you and your family during this difficult time. I remember Jan having a passion for life and always willing to say what was on her mind. My mom had a zest for life. She enjoyed going to the horse races; watching "Little House on the Prairie" and "Everybody Loves Raymond"; eating ice cream, fast food (occasionally), and anything with sugar (especially pumpkin chocolate chip cookies); and she loved camping with her boys and all of her sister's, nieces and nephews. When I was younger and couldn’t drive myself to go fishing, her and my dad would treat us (my brother and I) to a fishing trip if we completed our chores during the week; all winter long I would stock up on fishing gear in preparation for the fishing trips of summer.

My mom loved the color pink and cats. Her home was full of pink "stuff" and cats. We had the privilege of adding to her collection nearly every time we visited her. I will never forget how excited she would be when we gave her some pink socks or pink sunglasses.

I will always remember Christmases with my mom, they were special. I will always remember the love she shared with me throughout her life. I will always remember the fun we had when we were together (even doctors’ appointments were amusing). I will always remember the smile she had on her face every time my brother or I accomplished something in our lives. She was a mom, my mom and she will always live in my heart.

THANKS FOR BEING MY MOM! YOU WERE THE BEST MOM I COULD HAVE EVER HOPED FOR. I LOVE YOU!

It has been a great opportunity to work with your family. It shows that you are a much loved lady by the family that is involved in the process of the funeral plans. I hope for a very memorable experience throughout the next coming days and let the memories live on forever.
