Jan Rossman, 49, of Charlotte passed away on August 7, 2009 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House. Jan was born on August 14, 1959 to Carolyn Wharton and Jack Bernhart in Akron, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her step-father, James Wharton, who was a father to her during her formative years. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 6PM at South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church, officiated by Pastor Matt Brown. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Burial will take place in Peninsula, OH at a later date. Jan graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Akron. She graduated with a BS in Marketing. She was a Senior VP of Risk Technology Group at Bank of America for many years. Mrs. Rossman was a member of South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the Monday night Bible Study Group. She loved reading, gardening, walking on the beach; but most of all, she dedicated her life to her family. In addition to being survived by her mother, Carolyn Wharton and her husband John David Moore of North Myrtle Beach, SC and father, Jack Bernhart of Sun City, AZ; she is also survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Richard Rossman of the home; son, Steven Rossman of the home; brothers, Jack Bernhart of Akron, OH and Chris Bernhart of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; and other friends and family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church, Susan G. Komen For The Cure at www.komen.org, Humane Society of Charlotte, or Levine & Dickson Hospice House at www.hpccr.org/patients-info-levine-dickson-house.cfm.
