GRAFTON: Jane C. (Stencel) Smith, 87, passed peacefully October 1, 2011. Her husband of 53 years Joseph Smith Sr. passed in 1995. She is survived by her four daughters, Carol A. Sargentelli of Worcester, Janet M. Smith and her companion Harry Peters of Upton, Joan E. Going of Auburn, Paula J. Army and her husband Bernard of Grafton, one son, John A. Smith and his wife Ellen of Douglas, one sister, Irene Ohrn and her husband Carl of Worcester, 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren with another to be born in March of 2012, also nephews, nieces, cousins and her aunt Helen. She was preceded in death by her son Joseph Jr., sisters, Alfreda Letteri, Peggy Flaminio, brothers Ted, Stanley Jr. and Chet. She was born March 11, 1924 in Worcester raised there the daughter of the late Stanley and Viola (Bocian) Stencel. She had lived in North Grafton since 1963. Mrs. Smith was a graduate of David Hale Fanning Vocational High School in Worcester. The greatest joy in her life was her family and friends. She also loved to play bingo, bowl and do arts and crafts. The family wishes to praise the staff at Holy Trinity Nursing, Rehabilitation and Hospice. There are not enough words to say how much we love and thank you for your loving care to Jane while she was with you. You are truly angels from heaven living on earth. Flowers may be sent or donations honoring her may be made to Holy Trinity Orthodox Nursing Center, Resident Council Fund or Staff Gift Fund, 300 Barber Avenue Worcester MA 01606. Funeral Arrangements: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Jane Wednesday October 5th at 10 am in St. Marys Catholic Church, 17 Waterville St. in North Grafton. She will then be laid to rest with her husband at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. All are invited to calling hours Tuesday October 4th from 5 to 8 pm at THE RONEY FUNERAL HOME 152 WORCESTER ST. NORTH GRAFTON.
