Jane E. (Gocke) Stephens, 92, of Parkersburg died Friday February 13, 2009 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in Wood County a daughter of the late William E. and Elizabeth (Burke) Gocke.

She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and attended Mountain State College. She worked for C & P Telephone Company and the Parkersburg News and Sentinel. She was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where she served on the Rosary Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of the NALC Auxiliary.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Joyce Stephens of Parkersburg; daughter and son-in-law Becky and Stephen Koreski of Mineral Wells; four grandchildren Jared Stephens of Eleanor, WV, Stephanie Koreski Stauffer and her husband Dwight of Parkersburg, David Koreski and his wife Tammy of Parkersburg, and Michael Koreski and his wife Beth of Parkersburg; and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Milford S. Stephens, one brother William Gocke, and two sisters Eleanor Bertram and Catherine Taylor.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Father Eric Hall officiating. Burial will be at Rockland Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-7 PM Sunday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.
