Janette (Jan) Hanger Petersen
"Sweetheart"
Jan died on August 11th, 2010 in Murray, Utah. She was born June 21, 1963 to Earl and Elizabeth Ann Tueller Hanger. She married David Petersen on August 1, 1983. They had just celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary.
We will miss Jan very much. Jan graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in pharmacy. She enjoyed the personal relationships with her patients. Jan had a beautiful mind. It allowed her to see things from many different perspectives and in creative and unique ways. She was more observant of the world around us than most people. Her greatest love was for her family. She fought a 13 year battle with cancer to stay with them. Jan loved horseback riding, camping in the west desert, reading, photography, her pets and spending time with her kids and David. She was a very welcome companion to our Dad after the passing of our Mom.
She is survived by her husband, David Petersen, her daughter, Elizabeth (Beth) Petersen, her son, Zakary Petersen, her father, Earl Hanger, sisters, Suelyn (Guy) Padjen, Karen (Dan) Crookston, brother, Gregory (Jo) Hanger and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Ann Hanger and both sets of grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 16th at St. Vincent DePaul Parish, 1385 East Spring Lane, Holladay, UT at 11:30 am. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment in Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 South Memorial Lane, Holladay, UT.
