My Aunt Janis passed away on August 27th of this year.

I had gotten the text from my sister Autumn that she didn't have much time left a few weeks ago, and she told me that I should come and see her soon.

I told her that I loved her, but I really wish I would have told her that she really was like a second mother when we were growing up.

I had gotten the text from my sister Autumn that she didn't have much time left a few weeks ago, and she told me that I should come and see her soon.

I told her that I loved her, but I really wish I would have told her that she really was like a second mother when we were growing up.

There's so much that she has done for me; things I can't even remember.

Last Christmas, I was visiting over at my Grandma Ethel's for dinner. I hadn't had the money to get anyone else presents, but everyone else still got me things; socks, money, ornaments, good food... :) I love my family.

That day, even though she was sick, she came downstairs to see everyone. She gave me a hug, and told me that if I ever needed help, they were there for me.

Aunt Jan, I know when you said 'we', you meant yourself. Even though you've left us physically, I know you're still here for us. Words can't express how amazing you are, and you will be missed.

I'm going to miss visiting Grandma's too. It's the place I spent the majority of my childhood in, and even though I generally feel like I have no place that I can relate to as 'home', that house was pretty damn close to it.

The last few months have been unreal; my aunt is one of the most level-headed people I know, and to lose her... it's hard to grasp. She seemed to always have a solution, a smile and encouraging words. She was one of the most positive and optimistic people I know, and I hope that her optimism will be contagious to everyone she knew.

Once again, I love you, Aunt Jan. God rest your soul.

P.S.: I can properly clean the floor now; no more dry buckets or rags. :)

I was lucky enough to be friends with Janis for most of our lives. We used to say we have been friends since we were allowed to cross the street and before that we yelled to eachother from across the street. I am very grateful to have had such a special person for a best friend. Even though we lived miles away from eachother we always have stayed very good friends.

The week before Janis passed she asked me if I will ever forget her. I told her I will always remember her and I will keep her memory alive. How could I every forget such a special person. Janis was always there for anyone who needed her. She thought of everyone but herself. I came to visit in March after she found out she was sick. The whole week I was there we were together. We laughed and we cried together. I Thank God for making it possible for us to have that week and the week before Janis passed to spend time together. I think we were both trying to get out everything we needed to say to eachother. She talked about how much she loves her kids and hopes they will always be there for one another. She wished they would realize how fast life goes by and not have any regrets for the choices they make. I know they all realize what a special mom Janis is and would have done anything for them. Aaron, Nathan and Amber your Mom loved you very much!
I asked Janis if she was waiting for me to leave to go with Tony and her Dad and be happy again. She said yes that it would be too hard for me to be there. She was still thinking about what was best for me in her last days. That was what Janis was always about, thinking of everyone else never about herself. The day I had to leave was the hardest day of my life because this was going to be the last time I spent with Janis. I told her I Love Her and as hard and tired as Janis was she said I love you back to me. Janis is so happy now and I am happy she has no more pain but I still will always miss my best friend!

To the greatest woman I have ever know. Your passion for life and love and compassion for the people in your life will never be matched. I learned so much about everything from you and I hope to be able to pass the same lessons to Victoria, Alec Nolan , and Abby. I hope I can be as good of a father as you were a mother.

You will be missed my dear friend. You alsways had a pretty smile, always upbeat and you never were down. Having you as my customer service representive at Research Oil made my job so much easier. I got jealous when George hired you because I knew what a quality person he got.
You are one classy woman and I will miss you but I will alsways have a smile in my heart everytime I think of you!

Dear family.
I always looked forward to speaking with Janis (as one of her vendors for Enviroserve). Her and I would always laugh and speaking with her always (!!) brightened my day. I pray that the memories and love that she shared with you all, along with the love of our Heavenly Father, will comfort you in the coming days and weeks.

Janis Trocano was more than just the mother of my best friend.
I always referred to her as My "2nd MOM" as well as unofficial Grandma to
my daughter............

Janis and I have a lifetime of happy memories. She has been a good friend for 52 yrs. I will miss her so much. She has been there for me thru the good times and bad. We were always there for eachother. I will always be thankful for the week we had in March after she found out she was sick. We laughed and cried together that week. Then I got to spend the last week of her time here
