Janna Kay Coopwood, RN died May 4th at the young age of 36, and all we have left is the memory of a beautiful young woman who fought valiantly for 22 years the diseases of depression and bipolar disorder. In spite of this she was able to graduate from Lago Vista High School and UT San Antonio School of Nursing. She worked in both San Antonio and Austin. She was greatly admired by her patients for her kindness and compassion. Despite her problems, she was able to raise a fine young daughter who was her pride and joy. This relationship kept Janna fighting as long as she could. Janna is survived by her daughter, Cassie Coopwood of Round Rock, TX; mother, Billie Coopwood Hamilton and husband, Jim of New York; father, Thomas B. Coopwood II MD and wife Paula, of Austin; brothers, Ben Coopwood MD and wife Robin and children of Austin, Joe Coopwood MD and wife JoAnn and daughter of Palestine, TX, Jerad Adams and wife Melissa and daughters of San Antonio, TX, and Steven Adams of Austin; and her grandmother, Mrs. JB (Tiny) Coopwood of Lockhart, TX. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Exposition at Windsor Road in Austin with a reception to follow. Burial will be private. She will be deeply missed by family and a myriad of friends. Memorials and guestbook online at wcfish.com
