Jarrod Craig Dearden 2/11/1976 – 8/30/2010 NORTH OGDEN - Jarrod Craig Dearden passed away August 30, 2010, in Bozeman, Montana, doing what he loved, flying an airplane. He was born February 11, 1976 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Craig L. and Sheryl Green Dearden. He attended school in North Ogden, graduating from Weber High School in 1994. On January 2, 1999 Jarrod married his eternal companion and love of his life, Lynette Barker in the Bountiful Temple. Jarrod could fix or build anything and was always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, rock climbing, scuba diving, bow hunting and golf. He especially loved planning and organizing the annual Barker Bow Hunting trip. During his short life he did many things. Jarrod enjoyed playing ice hockey. He played goalie for the first Weber High Hockey team, which won the 1994 state championship, and was a member of the Weber High Swim Team. He was a member of the Weber County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Dive team, the Powder Mountain Ski Patrol, and a firefighter reserve for the Weber Fire District. He obtained his general contractors license and opened his own business, Big Red Construction, appropriately named for his red hair and beard. He went on to earn his Associates Degree in 2004 from Salt Lake Community College in Aircraft Maintenance. At the time of his death he was employed as the Director of Maintenance for Upper Limit Aviation. He was well known and respected around the mountain west for his knowledge and work ethic. Jarrod had a smile that could melt your heart. There was not a person he did not like or that did not like him. The most important thing in his life was his family. He loved sharing his time with his wife and four children. He was the GREATEST husband and dad in the world. Jarrod is survived by his wife Lynette; his sons Hunter, Spencer, and Tanner and his daughter Makayla. Also surviving are his parents, Craig and Sheryl Dearden (North Ogden); his sisters, Tricia (Randy) Thompson (Pleasant View) and Dawnelle (Travis) Call (Syracuse); numerous nieces and nephews; his Grandmother Dorothy Dearden and In-laws Jay and Mirjam Barker. He was preceded in death by his daughter Maddison; Grandfather Farrell Dearden; grandparents Clifton and Pauline Green; Grandfather In-law Ward Barker and Grandma Toni. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, September 8th at the North Ogden 5th Ward Chapel, 650 East 2600 North, North Ogden. Family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening, Sept. 7th from 5 to 8 pm at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. and from 9:30 to 10:30 am Wednesday at the church. Interment in Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. In lieu of flowers and to benefit his children, a Jarrod Dearden Family Trust account has been set up at Weber State Credit Union (weberstatecu.org) and America First Credit Union.
