Jean C. Horn, 85, of Ft. Wayne, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Born, June 10, 1926 in Huntington, Jean graduated from Huntington High School, attended Purdue University and was the first woman accepted into G.E.'s Electrical Engineering Program. Along with her husband Carl Horn, they were founders of Indiana Auto Auction where she actively worked for over 40 years. She was a member of Unitarian Universalist Congregation. Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, rock collecting, and watching baseball. Her favorite team was the White Sox and she tolerated the Cubs. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carl; sons, Ted (Karen) Horn of Columbia City and Wayne (Judy) Horn of Fort Wayne; daughter, Ann M. Horn of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Chad (Michelle) and Ryan (Lisa) Horn; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Abigail Horn; and sister, Melba Trout of Cincinnati. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Edna Bussard and sister, Wilma Grosskoff. "A special thanks to the staff at Village Oaks Assisted Living." Service is 10:30 am Monday, July 18, 2011 at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave. with visitation an hour prior.
