Jean H. Peterson nee Hoerig passed away on March 15 at Care One in Morristown at the age of 84. She was born in Newark, NJ and graduated from Columbia High School in Maplewood in 1943. Jean married the love of her life the late Harold Peterson in January 1947. They moved to Madison in 1949 where she raised her five boys. Jean enjoyed having celebrations at her home honoring birthdays, holidays and births of her grandchildren. She was a long time member of the Madison Community Pool Board of Trustees and volunteered with the Madison Senior Center. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corp. and was a parishioner of Ogden Memorial Presbyterian Church. Jean is survived by her five sons; Carl and his wife Donna, John and his wife Diane, Bill and his wife Joellen, Jim, and Jeff and his wife Kathi. Jean is also survived by nine grandchildren; Christopher, Jennifer, Alyssa, David, Brian, Kelsey, Stephen, Craig and Lindsey. She was predeceased by her brother Jack Hoerig. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, support, food, flowers and company during the last few months. Visitation is to be held from 2-4 & 7-9 on Friday at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St. Chatham. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 20 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corp. 29 Prospect St. Madison, NJ 07940 or the American Heart Association 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
