Jean Rhodes Boone, 77, passed away on November 17, 2010. She was born in Franklin, VA in 1933 to the late Avis Hooker and William J. Rhodes, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Boone; and her brothers, William J. Rhodes, Jr. and James E. Rhodes. Jean was a loyal employee and retiree of the Virginia Department of Transportation for 32 years. She is survived by her loving son, William Scott Boone (Karen) of Virginia Beach, VA; devoted daughter, Elizabeth Boone Noel of Yorktown, VA; and beloved grandchildren, Lindsay Michele Boone Spencer (Justin) of Lansdale, PA, Jared Scott Boone of Virginia Beach, VA, James Wright Noel of Richmond, VA and Jonathan Vaughan Noel of Harrisonburg, VA. A graveside service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive guests at Jean's home in Chesapeake following the service. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Snellings Funeral Home, 1144 George Washington Highway, N., Chesapeake, VA 23323.
