Jean W. Ward, affectionately known as Mom-Mom, was born on January 31, 1945, in Rocky Mount, NC to the late James and Geneva Williams Wildermuth. Mom-Mom went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 21, 2011. She held the hands of her loving husband and her daughter as she walked into the outstretched arms of our Lord and Savior. Leaving to cherish her memories, her husband of 47 years, Richard E. Ward; a son, Richard E. Ward, Jr., and his wife Candee; a daughter, Teresa Jeanne Bell and her husband Brian; and 5 grandchildren, Brandon Ward, Ashlyn Ward, Tyler Ward, Chase Bell, and Kaleigh Jeanne Bell. Jean and her family wish to express an enormous thank-you to all of the Dr.'s and nurses at DePaul ICU, Maryview ICU and Norfolk General Cardiac ICU. A celebration of Jean's life will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home on Tidewater Drive. The service will be officiated by Dr. Dan Phillips Abbott, Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, where Jean was a member. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The burial will be immediately following the funeral services at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A reception will be held at the funeral home immediately following the burial.
