Jeanette Thomas, 69, of the 5500 block of Club Head Road, Virginia Beach, VA, died December 20, 2010, in her home. She was born in Teachey, NC on September 30, 1941 and graduated from Wallace-Rose Hill High School, North Carolina. Jeanette continued her education receiving her BA in Primary Education from East Carolina University in 1963, her MS in Elementary Education in 1981 and her MS in Reading in 1986 from Old Dominion University. She was a master teacher, a marathon runner and enjoyed tennis and hiking. Jeanette is survived by her husband, Peter D. Thomas; her mother, Margaret Turner; brother, Manley Ward Turner; and son, Stephan Douglass. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at 11 a.m, at All Saints' Episcopal Church. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
