Jeanne Mae DiMarino, (nee Salvatore), widow of beloved long-time Paulsboro physician, Dr. Anthony J. DiMarino, Sr. died peacefully in her Woodbury home, Saturday, six weeks before her 101st birthday.

Legacy

Jeanne was born and raised in Camden. She was a standout three sport athlete at Camden High School. Jeanne was introduced to her future husband at a political fundraiser. Upon completion of Dr. DiMarino's medical school, they married on December 30, 1934. The couple settled in Paulsboro, NJ, where the medical practice was established adjacent to their home. Jeanne was the bookkeeper and they were a team! Jeanne was active in many area organizations, including serving as president of the Gloucester County Medical Society Women's Auxiliary, supporting the Underwood-Memorial Hospital, Paulsboro Women's Club, helping St. John's Parish establish a school and devoting time to their Altar & Rosary Society. Jeanne often organized play performances, hosting rehearsals in her home. Family and faith were of paramount importance in Jeanne's life.

Dr. & Mrs. DiMarino were founding members of the Ocean City Yacht Club where they played bridge weekly. It was there that Jeanne accumulated masters points and was a 13 time champion. She was also a regular bridge player at the Woodbury Country Club. An active lady, Jeanne played bridge until she was 94 and golf until she was 85. Jeanne's dedication to her three children, Joanne, Tonia and Anthony J., Jr. was first and foremost in her mind. Jeanne loved to help them find their individuality and was only too happy to take them to their sporting events, numerous school and extracurricular activities. And always Jeanne insisted that they were dressed well and behaved properly.
Jeanne's grandchildren and great-grandchildren were an integral part of her life. Family gatherings over the years at the holidays and family celebrations will always be remembered. Jeanne always wanted her family to be the best that they could be and she led through example.

Family

Jeanne is the widow of Dr. Anthony J. DiMarino, Sr. She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Dr. Anthony J. DiMarino, Jr (Dottie); Joanne Dorey (Fred) and Tonia "Sissie" Tecce (Fred).
