Jeffrey Davis Pridgen, 51, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 1, 2011. Born in Washoe County, Nevada on October 15, 1959, Pridgen was a lifelong resident of Hampton Roads, Virginia, recently residing in Newport, North Carolina. After graduating from Frank W. Cox High School in 1977, Pridgen attended Old Dominion University where he received his B.S. in Business Administration in 1981. He is survived by his three children, Macie, Taylor, and Scott Pridgen; parents, Macey "Jack" and Jane Pridgen; sisters, Linda Kinsella, Cynthia Brookes, and Linda Marie Haynes; brother, David Pridgen; brother-in-law, Tom Kinsella; several loving nieces and nephews; and many other friends and family. Jeff was happiest when he was with his family. He had a passion for sports, rock music, and reading. He was known for his love of the Washington Redskins, second only to the love for his children. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home at 1264 N. Great Neck Road in Virginia Beach, VA. Please join us and share your memories of Jeff at his memorial service on Friday, July 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with the Reverend Dr. Jim Young officiating. A graveside service will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Macie Pridgen for the Jeffrey D. Pridgen Memorial Fund at any Virginia Beach Schools Federal Credit Union location. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hollomon-brown.com.
