Smith, Jeffrey Wayne- age 49, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, January 14, 2011, at his home. He was a member of Thorn Grove Christian Church, and a graduate of Carter High School. He was a former employee of Sea Ray Boat, Patriot Motor Company, Jones Brothers, and Amliner. He was a veteran United States Marine Corps and a member of the Marine National Guard. Jeffrey was an avid outdoorsman; who loved football and racing, being a Dale Earnhardt fan. He is survived by son, Jeffrey Wayne Smith, Jr.; parents, Coy and Julia Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Erica Smith; grandmother, Tina Smith; Nephews, Nicholas, Spenser, and Parker Smith; niece, Allyson Smith; special friends, Pete and Nancy Chadwell and Debra; special cousins, Rick and Tim Edington; special little friends, Peyton and Bella; and several aunts, uncles, and a host of other cousins. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 pm Monday, January 17, 2010, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Minister Joel Rood officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:45 am on Tuesday at Sunrise Cemetery for a 12:00 pm interment service with full military honors conducted by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Thorn Grove Christian Church 728 South Carter High School Road Strawberry Plains, TN. 37871 The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:30 pm on Monday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
