Jerome (Jerry) A. W. Miller , 82, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Jerry was born December 4, 1927, in Fort Wayne. He graduated from South Side High School, spent two years in the Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, and also earned two degrees from Purdue University; one in Chemical Engineering and one in Pharmacy. Jerry then spent 46 years as a pharmacist in the Fort Wayne area. He was a 56 year member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a former president of the Northeast Indiana Pharmacist Association, Civil War Round Table and of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at Purdue. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Janet; daughters Holly (Tim) Friedrich of Fort Wayne, Candy Miller (Rex VanAlmsick) of St. Louis MO, and Becky (Buddy) Rountree of Plantation, FL. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, and Nick; three step-grandchildren, Heather, Danielle and Jody and four step-great grandchildren. Funeral services are 10 am Saturday at Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Rev. Dr. John Steven Park officiating, calling one hour prior to service. Calling also Friday 4 to 7pm at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
