Longtime Austinite Jerome "Jerry" Hier died peacefully at home on June 16, 2012 at the age of 65.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother "Honey" Brown and sister Judy Smith, and by his father Vernard Hier. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Susan, his nephews Ernest and Michael Gonzales of Austin, Shawn VanWinkle of San Antonio, and their families.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
