Jerome "Jerry" Snyder, age 73, of Janesville, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. He was born in Janesville on Jan. 12, 1937, the son of John and Mayme (Stearns) Snyder. He married Ruby Hunt in Janesville on Aug. 29, 1959. Jerry had been employed by General Motors until his retirement on Jan. 1, 1997. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Loyal Order of Moose. Jerry was an avid horseshoe, darts and euchre player. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Snyder; 4 children: Christopher (Joyce) Snyder, Laura Brodie (special friends Dan Cunningham and daughter Kiara), Gregory (Justine) Snyder and Brian Snyder all of Janesville; 4 grandchildren: Alec and Kaitlyn Snyder, Jennifer Brodie, and Evan Snyder; and 1 brother, Eugene (Therese) Snyder of Monroe. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and 7 siblings: Gwen Sauerzopf, John B. Snyder, Jimmy Snyder, Kenneth Snyder, Meryl Neumueller, Evelyn Quade, and Dorothy Botsford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 26, 2010, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH with Rev. James Kuhn officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Milton. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME.
