JESSE “BUDDY” VANDALL

Jesse Dean Vandall, 68, lovingly known as “Buddy” to his friends and family, was called home by his Lord and Savior on August 17, 2011. He was born in Prudence, WV on August 23, 1942. He went to Bradley Elementary School, Beckley Junior High, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1960.He was a member of Beckley First Church of the Nazarene. He was a lifelong resident of Beckley, WV. He worked as a pressman for the Hodels at Beckley Post Herald and Raleigh Register. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His passion was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded to heaven by his beloved grandmothers and grandfathers, Wilbur and Annie Vandall, and Carl and Elizabeth Taylor, and by his beloved father Jesse Strauthers Vandall. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Maria “Carole” Vandall, his mother Maxine Vandall, sister Carolyn Williams, as well as son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Billie Jo “Sally” Vandall, son and daughter-in-law John and Lora Vandall, and son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Krista Vandall. Grandchildren, Luke, Maria, Courtney “Korky”, Tyler, Ryan, and Bethany. Great-grandchildren Skylar, Shaylynn, and Xaviar.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Rev. Wayne Peters and Rev. Richard Wagner officiating.
Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Norman Bias, Jack Wygal, Pat McMillion, Eric Porterfield, Melvin Duba and David Foley.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
