Jesse Richardson Rudisill, Jr., 64, of Hickory, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. Born April 3, 1947 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Jesse Richardson Rudisill, Sr. and Della Shell Rudisill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Shell Gilland. A graduate of Hildebran High School and UNC Chapel Hill where he received his degree in Business Administration and his Doctor of Jurisprudence. Richard's fondest memory of Chapel Hill was proposing to Susan in the Arboretum. He practiced law for 39 years in Hickory championing the cause for many people. His passion included his Four Turkeys Farm, which has been in his family since the late 1800's where family and friends will forever cherish memories. He was a member of the Roanoke and Tar River Gun Club where he loved to socialize and hunt. His greatest passion was his family who always came first. He is survived by his wife Susan McCallum Rudisill of the home; three sons: James Richardson Rudisill and wife Tara of Bloomington, IN, Joseph Ross Rudisill of Richmond, VA, and Thomas Robert Rudisill of Charleston, SC. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Hickory with the Rev. Bob Roach officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Brenner's Children's Hospital, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Medical Center Blvd., Winston Salem, NC 27157. Bass-Smith Funeral Home is serving the family of Jesse Richardson Rudisill, Jr.
