Jessie Edwards

Jesse volunteered in my classroom at Missouri City for many years. I always loved the days she showed up to help me and help the kids. They also looked forward to seeing her smiling face come in and brighten all of our days. I told her it was like having grandma come to school, and the kids did indeed treat her like she was their own grandmother. She and I shared a special friendship also. She was a farmer's wife like I am and we always had so much to talk about. I heard about her trips with her daughter to the African Violet Society conventions and she dearly loved going on those trips. I got to hear about and see photos of the Red Hat group. I remember the time she went to the Jelly Belly factory, when she came home she brought all of the kids boxes of jelly beans. We took time in class to look at the different flavors and taste them with the kids. How fun that was! Jesse was truly a treasure and I felt very blessed to be among her friends. I am very sorry she is no longer with us, but I will say that is a selfish wish, for I will no longer be able to her her very infectious laugh. She was the diamond among all of us and I will miss her dearly.
