Jewell Hammers went home to be with the Lord, November 25, 2011. She was 103 years of age. Her journey here has ended, but her life is just beginning. She loved life, spending time with family and the many friends she had. Laughter came easy for her and she was a joy to be with.
Preceded in death by her parents, Ben & Berlie (Fields) Terry, her husband, of 62 years, Sherman Hammers; daughter Ernestine Taylor, son, Donald Hammers; infant grandson, Donald Hammers, Jr.; sisters, Mae, Fairie, Bonnie & Jettie and by brothers, Ben, Uliss and Harless.
She is survived by daughter, Linnie Brown; son, Douglas Hammers; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and by one sister, Jessie Green.
