Mr. Jimmy Rogers Coker, 68, of Colbert, GA passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013, at the St. Mary's Hospice House in Bogart, GA.

Mr. Coker was born in Royston, GA on April 16, 1945, son of the late L.T. Coker and the late Mary King Coker. He was a sprinkler fitter, a former Deputy Sheriff for the Madison County Police Department, as well as a former EMT and a member of the Bible Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Coker was a U.S. Marine where he served during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Brooks Coker of Colbert, GA; son, Jeremy Coker of the home; sister, Janette Saylors of Washington, GA.

Funeral services for Mr. Coker will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Garrett and the Chaplain Bill Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in the Danielsville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brooks, 2498 Highway 29 S., Colbert, GA 30628.

Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to the St. Mary's Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Road, Bogart, GA 30622.
