JoAnn Brandt Trimble, 77, of Hickory and formerly of Dallas, TX, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at her residence. Born April 15, 1935 in San Antonio, TX, she was the daughter of the late Daniel C. Brandt and Anna Friesen Brandt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Candy Spears and a son, John Collie. Ms. Trimble was a member of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas, TX and had worked in the furniture industry there before moving to Hickory. While working as a designer in Dallas, she came to Hickory numerous times to attend the Furniture Market. She is survived by her daughter, Deanne Collie Blackburn and husband Michael of Hickory, NC; son-in-law, Eddie Spears of Waxahachi, TX; grandchildren: Shawn Spears and wife Suzanne of Denton, TX, Jennifer Silva and husband Juan of Tyler, TX, Daniel Blackburn of Hickory, NC, Brian Blackburn and wife Lindsay of Charlotte, NC; two brothers: Marvin Brandt and wife Vesta of Beaumont, TX, Lee Brandt of San Antonio, TX; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Hickory with the Rev.'s Bob Roach and Rick Schilling officiating. There will also be a memorial service held at Lovers Lane Methodist Church in Dallas, TX on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Memorials may be made to Palliative Care Center & Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658. Bass-Smith Funeral Home is serving the family of JoAnn Brandt Trimble.
