Joan C. Smith, 70, of Madison, but formerly of Morristown, passed away Sunday, August 16th at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Born in Mt. Holly, NJ on Tuesday, April 25, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Walter Collins and Cora Loper Stallings of Morristown. She was a teacher at Morris School District, Morristown, NJ for over 20 years. Joan was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Morristown, as well as founding inspiration and member of the planning committee for Little Lights Academy. She is survived by her mother; her son David and his wife Viveca Smith of Maryland; son Jeffrey Smith of Dover; sister Constance L. and her husband Thomas Goode of Virginia; and she is also survived by three grandchildren, two nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
