Joan F. Makinen, 77, of Hobe Sound, Fl, passed away July 22, 2011 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, FL.
She was born in Boston, MA, resided in Hingham before moving to Hobe Sound in 1991.
She was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, Hobe Sound, FL.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John N. Makinen of Hobe Sound, FL, sons, John W. Makinen of Alaska and Hawaii, James M. Makinen of MA, daughters, Barbara J. Thompson of CA, Cheryl F. Weiss of NJ, and Michelle W. Mapstone of MA, and Six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Reef Y. Makinen.
A Mass in her memory at St. Christopher Catholic Church will be held at a later date.
