Joan L. Conn, 84, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at her home in Fort Wayne. Born in Adams County, IN, Joan worked at Parkview Hospital for 21 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church. She was a skilled seamstress, loved to read, knit, crochet and make afghans; which were donated to the church, to the homeless and to shelters.
Surviving are her husband, Ray; son, Matthew (Tamatha) Conn of Fort Wayne; daughters, Tamara (Steven) Frey of Hudson, IN and Merrilee (Ken) Kapsi of Kennewick, WA; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Elease Striker; brother Richard Striker; and sister, Harriett Striker.
Funeral service is 10 am Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 10001 Coldwater Rd with calling one hour prior. Rev. Jan Funk officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Rd. Entombment in St. Paul Mausoleum at Covington Memorial Gardens.
