Joan L. Tyson, 81, of Higgins Lake passed away on Wednesday September 7, 2011 at Hilltop Manor Health Care Center, Roscommon. Joan was born on February 16, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Gordon and Mary (May) Webster. She grew up in Detroit where on November 8, 1952 she married Norman Tyson, and Norman preceded her in death on February 6, 1987. Joan was a homemaker and wonderful mother. The couple moved from Detroit to Roscommon County over 25 years ago. She attended Bethesda Christian Church of Sterling Heights. Mrs. Tyson is survived by her two loving daughters, Helene Tyson of Roscommon, and April Garrett of Houghton Lake; beloved son, William Scott Tyson of Roscommon; three grandchildren, James, Sarah, and Allison; two nieces, and one nephew. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Mable Hartman. Funeral Services for Mrs. Joan L. Tyson will be conducted 12:00PM (noon) Monday September 12, 2011 at Parkview Memorial Cemetery, 34205 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan with Rev. Timothy Helland officiating.
