Jodi M. (Ricker) Trani, of Holden, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at home. She was 34.
Jodi was born February 21, 1982, in Worcester, the oldest daughter of Robert V. & Mary J. (Whitney) Ricker. She was a 2000 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School where she played golf and volleyball. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Finance from Bryant College. . She continued her education and later practiced nursing, earning a degree from Quinsigamond Community College where she graduated valedictorian.
She met her husband, Brad Trani, while attending Bryant College. They were friends who began dating after college, and married on October 4th, 2008 at St. Mary's Church in Jefferson. Jodi and Brad spent most of their marriage living in Worcester, "competing" over whose eyes were bluer. They moved to Holden, where Jodi was raised, a little over a year ago with their two beautiful children. Jodi loved being on the beach and time spent at the family home on Cape Cod. She also had a love for animals, especially horses and dogs; above all else, her love for her children consumed her.
Jodi loved being a mother and was blessed with two children, Jackson Robert, 3, and Parker Elizabeth, 1. Jodi loved all things a new mother would cherish from dressing and feeding them to rocking and singing and reading to them every night before bed. They will be certain to learn of their wonderful mother as they grow.
In heaven, Jodi joins her maternal grandparents, Francis and Jane Whitney of Grafton, and her paternal grandparents, Donald and Geraldine Ricker of Shrewsbury, and several aunts, uncles, and her cousin.
Mourning her loss is her husband, Brad and their two children, Jackson and Parker; her parents, Robert and Mary Ricker; a sister, Jessica M. Bahde and her husband, Stephen of Holden; her mother-in-law Elizabeth Dabek-Rhodes of Shrewsbury; father-in-law Robin Rhodes of Worcester; a brother-in-law, Bryce Trani and his wife Nicole of Shrewsbury; her nieces and nephews Nina Marie and Adam Scott Trani and Reed Robert Bahde; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
