Joe A. Moore 63, of St. Joseph passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 Friday, December 16, 2011 at Stevensville United Methodist Church, 5506 Ridge Rd. in Stevensville with Pastor Gordon Barry officiating. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to The National Arbor Day Foundation. Those wishing to share a memory of Joe may do so at www.stark-menchinger.com.

Joe was born September 6, 1948 in Alliance, Nebraska to Max & Gladys (Reynolds) Moore. He graduated from Hamburg High School in Iowa in 1967. He then attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where he received his Bachelor's of Science Degree in 1971. On May 22, 1971 he married Susan Hennessey in Lincoln, Nebraska. Joe worked for many businesses as a Chief Financial Officer. In his spare time he enjoyed sports, coaching, skiing, gardening and working in his yard. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends and was a mentor to many young people.

Joe is survived by his wife Susan Moore of St. Joseph; daughters Jennifer (Jason) Pett of Ellicott City, MD and Jill (Michael) Clouse of Glen Ellyn, IL; grandchildren Spencer, Owen, Carter Pett and Sean and Maryn Clouse; mother Gladys Moore of Iowa; brothers Donald (Marilyn) Moore of Colorado, Douglas (Susan) Moore of Missouri, David Moore of Iowa and Michael (Patty) Moore of Iowa; Joe was preceded in death by his father Max Moore, sister Victoria Powers, and many of his beloved dogs.
