Joe E. Moore, 66, of Ironton, passed away Sunday April 29, 2012, at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton, Ohio native was born May 29, 1945, the son of the late Edgar and Edith Rucker Moore. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Jo (Sue) Kerns Moore, whom he married April 11, 1987..
Joe was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and retired in 2007 after 42 years of service with the Armco Steel Company, where he worked in the Masonry Department. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #701.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by:
a brother: Floyd E. "Buddy" Moore
In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
son and daughter-in-law Jeremy and Kayla Moore of Ironton
son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Beth Taylor of Ironton
daughter: Cheryl Caplinger of Ironton
daughter and son-in-law: Linda Fout and Darrell Eaches of South Point, OH
3 sisters and brothers-in-law: Faye and John Drain of Hyattsville, MD, Betty and Lon Fraley, Phyllis and Ken Ackison all of Ironton
a sister-in-law: Mary Moore of Ironton
5 grandchildren: Amanda Fout of South Point, Rynlee Moore, Roman Moore, Ryan Caplinger and Tyler Taylor all of Ironton
1 great grandchild: Emma Jo Waugh
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday (May 3, 2012) at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with Pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
