Joe Lowe, 60, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Monday, October 15, 2012, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born February 3, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Joseph Adam and Catherine McAleer Lowe. Joe had a career in radio for 45 years, going back to his days on WVJS as an intern. He has worked at WOMI/WBKR for 15 years, and his "Joe Lowe Morning Show" was a staple for fans of current affairs. He was member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and a member of the Great Owensboro Chamber of Commerce, Monster Jam and the Owensboro Daviess County Regional Airport board. He was past president of the Owensboro Jaycees, past chairman of the Daviess County Republican Party, past chairman of Big Rivers Chapter American Red Cross and past board member of the Boulware Center. Joe never met a stranger. Even if it was your first time meeting him, you felt like you knew him for years. Joe is survived by his wife of 41years, Kathy Lowe; two daughters, Sandy Lowe of Owensboro and Karen Lowe of Wilmington, NC; three grandchildren, Brittani, Lexie and Chloe; three brothers, Mike Lowe of Boiling Springs, SC, and Kevin Lowe (Caren) and Pat Lowe (Vickie) both of Hardinsburg, KY; a sister, Cathi Foote (John) of Irvington, KY and several nieces and nephews. Services are 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro, where prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, 1302 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY 42301 or to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 4029 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY 42301.
