MARTINEZ, JOE ALBERTO
Joe Alberto Martinez, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 of cancer. He is survived by his sister, Margie M. Baca of Albuquerque, NM; sister-in-law, Eva Martinez of Tecolotito, NM and sister-in-law, Clara Martinez of San Jon, NM; and 34 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father, Porfirio and Eulogia Martinez; brothers, Jose AC, Cristobal, Antonio, Florencio, Porfirio Jr., Blas, Ismael, and Enrique; and sisters, Mela M. Maes, Eva M. Mares, Rose M. Romo, and Alcantara M. Baca. Joe was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Church. Viewing will take place Sunday, November 27, 2011, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at French-Lomas Chapel located at 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87112. Rosary will be recited following the viewing at 7:30 p.m. Refreshments after Rosary at 304 General Stilwell NE, all are welcome. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 28, 2011, 10:30 a.m., at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church located at 8901 Candelaria Rd NE 87112, Albuquerque, NM with Father Johnny Lee Chavez as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery with a lunch to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Sangre de Cristo Church. Pallbearers will be Crescencio Martinez, Danny Martinez, Fabian Martinez, Lee Romo, Jack Maes, Derek Marrujo, Fernando Mares honorary, and Jude Baca honorary. Should friends or family desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
