Joe Spencer Keys
1925 – 2011
Joe passed away surrounded by his family at home on January 19, 2011 in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. He was born April 21, 1925 in Joplin, Missouri to Don Keys and Grace Eugenia Kyle. He served in the Army Air Corps in WWII and later in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. Joe received his BA degree from New York University. He worked for the FAA, Dept. of Agriculture and the IRS. On April 12, 1950 he married Norma June Taber in Independence, Missouri. Joe was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served in various callings.
He is survived by his loving wife, children: Jay (Jody), Martha (Tim) Christensen; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 24, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at the Butler 18th Ward, 6600 S. Greenfield Way (1800 East), Cottonwood Heights, UT. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow services at Mountain View Memorial Park.
