John A. Wiley, born December 27, 1918 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to the late Bennie R. Wiley and Julia Wiley, passed away April 12, 2011. John was a member of Temple Baptist Church and he retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility. John is survived by his loving wife, Marguerite Cartwright Wiley; three sisters, Elsie Patrick, Virginia Price, and Caroline Bloodworth; a brother, Ben R. Wiley, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his mother, father, three brothers, William, Edward, and Garthen, and a sister, Barbara Ann. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to Temple Baptist Church.
