GEHMAN, JOHN – John Bartholomew Gehman, 93, died at home in La Jolla, CA on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. John was born in Drexel Hill, PA to Clarence and Helen Gehman in 1916. After graduating from Villanova in 1939, he worked for RCA in Indianapolis, IN. John married Mary Kathryn Campbell on August 8, 1943. John moved his family to La Jolla in 1962. John worked as an electronics engineer (RF) for defense contractors all of his working life and generated over 25 patents. He retired from General Dynamics in 1982, but continued to work on amateur radio with the Microwave Group of San Diego. He has been an active member of La Jolla Lutheran Church since 1962. John is with his Savior Jesus Christ in heaven. He is survived by his son John Jr. and wife Joan of Escondido; daughter Janet and her husband Dave Frost of Fortuna, CA; granddaughter Julie and her husband Eddie Woods of Glendale, AZ; grandson, Greig and his wife, Bethany and great-grandchildren, Thomas, Aubrey, Claudia, and Rachel of Valley Center, CA; and his caregiver and friend, Renee Montano. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on June 24 at El Camino Memorial, 4710 Cass Street, San Diego. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on June 26 at La Jolla Lutheran Church, 7111 La Jolla Blvd. Burial service will be at Great Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Valley Forge, PA on June 28, 2010.
