John Baptist Capuano, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans. John was born on February 1, 1917 to Joseph and Mary (Reichlicz) Capuano. He earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and entered the US Army in WWII. He was stationed at the Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Army Research Center. After receiving an honorable discharge, John joined the Occidental Petroleum Corporation and became general manager of Research & Development at the Udylite Research Laboratory and Vice President of the chemical manufacturing unit of Udylite-Puerto Rico. John designed, engineered and supervised the installation of the largest electroplating laboratory in the world. In retirement, John enjoyed doing consulting work in various countries with the IESC, working in sales and real estate. John is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jeanne McIntyre Capuano, a niece and three nephews. Honoring John's wishes, there will be a private family memorial service with Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber officiating. Inurnment will take place at Park Cemetery. The Canale-Tonella Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memories may be shared at www.canalefuneral.com
