John Brookins, Sr. was born November 20, 1937 to the late George and Jessie Brookins in Sparta, Georgia. John was better known as "Johnny" and "J.B." to family and friends. His education started early in Philadelphia, PA and finished in New York. In 1957, he moved to Newark, NJ where he established his self owned business as a Auto Mechanic. He departed this earth and entered into eternal rest on March 12, 2010 at the Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. John leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Ruth Brookins; his daughter, Charlotte Brookins-Bey (John) of Atlanta, GA; his son, John Brookins Jr. (Shirley) of Newark, NJ; two adopted sons, Darrian Deloatch and Tommy Victor from Newark, NJ; a sister, Luis Paulk; a brother, George Brookins (Josephine)of Philadelphia, PA; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
