Anderson, John C. (Jack), 79 on December 7, 2009 after a long illness, of Ramsey, NJ. He is survived by his loving wife Carol (nee Meletta-Brolsma): daughter, Laura Archdeacon and her husband Richard; sons, John C. Anderson Jr. and William Anderson; step-daughters, Carol Krajicek and her husband Don, Bonnie Brolsma and Nancy Longo and her husband Frank. Loving grandfather to Kenny, Brandon, Austin, Richard, Justin, Ryan, Brian, Melanie, Jenna and Sam. He is also survived by his brother Robert; sisters, Parma Kersten and her husband Jerry; Treva Thornton and her husband Harry and Gleda Anderson-Marthens and her husband Bill and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Richard, Thomas and Edward. Jack was raised in Titusville, PA and graduated from Titusville High School in 1948. He attended Upsala College in East Orange, NJ and received his B.S. from NYU. He was active as Scout Master of Troop 13 in Montclair, NJ and was a member of the Old Guard of Camp Glen Gray. Jack was also very active in the Barbershop Society for 50 years, participating in Quartet and chorus activity with appearances throughout the U.S. Jack received the Gold Note Award 28 times for recruiting new members. Jack was also very involved with Sharing Network, giving many presentations on the need for organ donations, as a result of having received a liver in 1990. He was an open, warm and loving man, quick of wit, with a warm smile and funny story for all. Jack was also very active in his church, participating in choir and bell choir for many years. He will be missed by his family, many friends and neighbors. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 from 10-11 AM with a service following at 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey, 15 Shuart Lane, Ramsey, NJ 07446. Cremation will be private. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, Ramsey, NJ. Donations may be made to the Ramsey Ambulance Corps., 41 S. Island Ave, Ramsey, NJ 07446 or the Barbershop Harmony Society, 110 7th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37203-3704 or the Sharing Network, 841 Mountain Ave, Springfield, NJ 07081-3437.
