John Cameron, 77 passed away peacefully in his home on December 2, 2011. John was born in Newport News, VA to Harry and Mary Cameron. He was a star basketball player at St. Vincent High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He achieved a successful career as a commercial lighting salesman, and retired in 2000 to his Virginia Beach home. He is survived by his wife, Diane Cameron; son, John G. Cameron; daughter, Dana Casper and husband Clayton; and sister, Rita Cameron Rigney. He was predeceased by his brothers, Harry and Carmen Cameron. John was a great father and husband. He loved big band jazz music and watching the Lawrence Welk Show. He had a glowing smile, a lively laugh and a wonderful sense of humor. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, 3600 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
