John Clifton Smith also known as Uncle Kitty, Kid, and Cliff was born on May 30, 1935 to the union of the late Hugh and Matilda Smith in Aberdeen, Mississippi. Three sisters, McNola McMillen, Ophelin Leach, and Mary Alice all preceded him in death. He worked for a Laundry Company in the city of St. Louis for many years. John was a very kind and sweet hearted man. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters, Ann Smith and Ruth Hunter both of St. Louis, Missouri, one brother, Roma Smith of Ohio, his two sons, Keith and Kenneth Russ, two nieces that took care of his well being (Sharon Aleese) Cheryl Smith, (Peaches) Loukenya Clay and a host of other nieces and nephews.
