John E. Boys, 70, of Camas, WA, passed away on Oct. 1st surrounded by his family after a 14 year battle with cancer. He was born on June 23rd, 1941 to Eathel and Beula Boys in Portland, OR. He was a lifelong resident of Camas, WA after a brief childhood in Woodland, WA. John was a 1959 graduate of Camas High School and received his mechanical engineering degree from University of Portland. He became a licensed engineer in 1964. He worked the first 19 years of his career with Bingham Willamette Pump Co. in Portland, Or. then became a consulting engineer specializing in pump design until his retirement. John was past President of the Oregon Duck Hunters Association and a member of their board of directors. He was a volunteer fireman for the Camas Fire Dept. for 19 years. He will be remembered and missed for his great sense of humor, keen analytical mind and extreme passion for hunting with friends and family. John is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Linda; his sons, Martin of Camas, Jeff of Vancouver, Mike of Vancouver, Jim of Portland, OR, Jordan of Camas; his stepdaughter Deana Hurley of Crosby, TX.; his grandchildren Catherine, Cooper, Keegan, Lauren and Hayley; his father Eathel of Vancouver; his sisters Anne Boys of Los Angeles, Emily Stevenson of Ellensburg, WA and Margaret Wolf of Issaquah, WA and his brother Mark of Washougal, WA. He was preceded in death by his mother Beula; his brothers David and Bill; ex-wife Patricia Boys; his stepdaughter Dalena Halpaus and his stepson Deane Halpaus.
